For those unfamiliar with the British Music Hall, it is similar to American Vaudeville - popular songs and dances with comedy routines. Music Hall emerged in the 1840's from pub entertainment. The shows moved from the pubs to the theaters, though keeping the free flowing spirited refreshments. The medium became very popular - favorites for every class - and by 1875, there were hundreds in London alone and more across the British Isles. All Music Hall performances followed a basic format: a "Chairman" acted as master of ceremonies, introducing singers, dancers and specialty acts. The Embassy Players' Music Hall revives that fun-filled format. A trademark and attraction of all Music Halls is the generous refreshments offered the audience, and The Embassy Players maintain that fine tradition. Music Hall is an entertainment experience not to be missed!

Photo: The Edwardians The cast features Malcolm Edwards as Mr. Chairman and Albert Coia (Helen Hayes Award nominee) as the Cheekie Chappie. The ensemble is a talented lot of singers, dancers and actors. The Chorus has the charming name of "the Edwardians" and the dancers are "the Bow Belles". The show was directed by Eileen Kent and produced by Pauline Griller-Mitchell, with musical director Sally Hile.
